Dunlap Specialty Care in Dunlap, IA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our 46-bed skilled nursing community. This full-time role focuses on keeping building systems, grounds, and safety standards running smoothly to provide a safe, comfortable home for residents.

You’ll perform maintenance tasks, monitor equipment, assist with housekeeping, manage supplies, and help with inspections and drills. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as needed per regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation of equipment and perform preventive/corrective maintenance to minimize disruption.
• Assist in monitoring heating/cooling systems; report problems promptly.
• Assist housekeeping with heavy floor care and cleaning tasks.
• Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available; manage inventory.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition; remove snow/ice promptly.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Ensure modifications/repairs follow procedures, codes, and laws.
• Follow MSDS and waste disposal procedures.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcomes.
• Use equipment and chemicals safely per instructions.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities

• Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal.
• Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
• Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
• Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure.
• Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.
