Job summary

Dunlap Specialty Care is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Dunlap, IA. This full-time role focuses on hands-on upkeep, preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, well‑maintained environment for residents and staff.

You will monitor equipment, coordinate basic repairs, assist with facility systems, and support housekeeping in heavy cleaning tasks while maintaining inventory and safety standards.

• Ability to provide general upkeep and implement preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as needed according to policies and safety rules.
• Monitor equipment and systems; perform preventive/corrective maintenance to minimize disruptions.
• Assist in monitoring heating/cooling systems and report issues promptly.
• Assist housekeeping with heavy floor care and cleaning tasks.
• Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available; maintain inventory records.
• Keep walkways safe and perform snow/ice removal as needed; maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Follow procedures for facility modifications, maintenance, and repairs as per codes and laws.
• Follow MSDS and waste disposal procedures; assist in inspections and drills.

Maintenance Supervisor

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal.
• Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
• Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
• Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure.
• Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.
