Position Overview

In the last 75 years, The Andersons, Inc. has grown from a single grain elevator to an essential agribusiness with diverse interests in the commodity merchandising, renewables, and plant nutrient industries. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor at our Bliss, ID location.

The Supervisor, Maintenance oversees the installation, repair, and upkeep of facilities and equipment, including machines, mechanical systems, buildings, and other structures. This position supervises a maintenance crew in completing routine maintenance, emergency repairs, installations, and overhauls. It ensures all activities are conducted according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes, and contributes to budgeting and planning to support the site’s business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire workers, organize schedules, and assign maintenance work activities. Conduct or delegate training to ensure individuals have requisite skills.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures (routine, emergency, and preventative) for assigned facilities with a focus on continuous improvement. Evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment, identifying problems and requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of and enforce budgets and goals, as well as short-term plans, annual plans, and long-range capital and operating plans.
  • Act as project manager on capital projects; solicit bids, supervise contractors, and ensure contract compliance with insurance and safety requirements.
  • Ensure record keeping and reporting are maintained according to established standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through training and enforcement of safety standards and procedures; ensure activities are in compliance with legal codes and regulations.
What is expected of you and others at this level
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of business or technical support or production team.
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans; receive guidance and oversight from the manager.
  • Typically, spend no more than 20% of time performing the work supervised.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or required.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience required.
