Job summary

UFP Industries seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to directly supervise the maintenance department, coordinate support services, and train staff. The role oversees preventative maintenance programs and safety initiatives, ensuring equipment operates reliably.

  • Use of precision tools and measuring instruments.
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficiency.
  • Familiarity with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in interviews and hiring processes.
  • Orientate and train maintenance personnel.
  • Coach, counsel, and initiate discipline as required.
  • Evaluate subordinate performance.
  • Develop and implement preventive and other maintenance programs.
  • Identify, research, and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operating department.
  • Lead employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Perform regular/preventative maintenance on machinery, tools, and buildings.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Repair machinery, equipment, buildings and assets as required.
  • Order supplies and parts at competitive pricing.
  • Maintain records of repair/maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Follow established safety rules and procedures.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assists in interviews and hiring processes
  • Orientates and trains maintenance personnel
  • Coaches counsel employees, and initiates discipline as required
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates
  • Develops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves problems
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with the operating department's requirements
  • Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings
  • Develops, implements, and supervises the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program
  • Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturing specifications, or by management request
  • Orders supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates
  • Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy
  • Prepares other reports as required
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Post-high school education is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area; 1 to 3 years of experience managing people
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Working knowledge of the use of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand tools
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
