Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance department, coordinate support services, and train staff.

This role directs maintenance activities, develops preventive maintenance programs, and ensures equipment reliability. Responsibilities include interviewing support staff, supervising technicians, enforcing safety rules, maintaining maintenance records, and reporting on performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Post-high school education is required.
• 3–5 years of maintenance or machine repair experience; 1–3 years in people management.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and control systems, and welding.
• Knowledge of safety practices and applicable laws and regulations.
• Hazardous materials handling procedures.
• Knowledge of precision tools and measuring instruments.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
• Understanding of company policies is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assists in interviews and hiring processes.
• Orientates and trains maintenance personnel.
• Coaches, counsels employees, and initiates discipline as required.
• Evaluates the performance of subordinates.
• Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Identifies, researches, and resolves problems.

• Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings.
• Develops, implements, and supervises the plant's Preventive Maintenance program.
• Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other assets per diagrams/manuals.
• Orders supplies and parts at competitive pricing.
• Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities per policy.
• Prepares other reports as required.
• Performs duties with established safety rules and procedures.

• Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy
• Prepares other reports as required
• Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• Post-high school education is required
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area; 1 to 3 years of experience managing people
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
• Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Working knowledge of the use of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand tools
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software
• Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
• Must be at least 18 years of age
