Job summary
Domtar Owensboro is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join the plant maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on converting and production equipment.
This full-time role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, leadership, and ability to read schematics are essential.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Read and interpret schematics.
- Demonstrate leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repair activities on converting and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
- Lead preventive maintenance and shutdown projects.
- Coordinate work assignments and provide directions to maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors.
- Facilitate maintenance, safety, and training meetings.
- Serve as backup for the Maintenance Manager when required.
- Promote safe work practices and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
