Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Specialist who will work closely with facility operations and engineering teams to address equipment-related action items through repair and maintenance. You will be proactive in prioritizing problems before they lead to breakdowns and report to the Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor. The BRP Marine Propulsion Systems facility in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, is a full-service lost foam plant that uses innovative processes to create aluminum castings from polystyrene beads.

HOURS :

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5am-5pm

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :
  1. Work closely with operations and engineering teams to address equipment-related action items through repair and maintenance.
  2. Take point on electrical/electronic issues involving PLCs, touchscreens, robotics, CNC programming and troubleshooting, motor control and drives, electrical panel building, and schematic drawings.
  3. Collaborate on design, installation, and power distribution issues for equipment and processes.
  4. Install and maintain medium and high voltage distribution systems, A.C. and D.C. motor controls, and microprocessor and relay-based machine controls.
  5. Maintain industrial LAN and SCADA systems.
  6. Monitor and maintain 5-S standards.
  7. Ensure effective communication with team members and support departments, maintaining accurate documentation.
  8. Proactively identify and resolve potential problems to prevent breakdowns.
  9. Use time efficiently to complete tasks within shifts.
  10. Log work orders daily into the Guide system.
  11. Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures diligently.
  12. Promote and model safe behaviors and BRP values across the facility.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES :

Required :

  1. Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Controls, or related field, or equivalent knowledge and proficiency (HS Diploma if no degree).
  2. 7+ years of maintenance or related experience, or 5+ years with a combination of education and experience.
  3. Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, ABB, etc.).
  4. Knowledge of industrial touchscreens, HMI, SCADA, and LAN systems.
  5. Hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  6. Knowledge of CNC programming and equipment.
  7. Knowledge of industrial robotics programming and equipment.
  8. Proficiency with frequency drives.
  9. Ability to design and write ladder logic.
  10. Ability to design and build electrical circuits.
  11. Proficiency with industrial electronic heat control systems.
  12. Experience with installation and troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls and starters.
  13. Database entry skills.

  1. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  2. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  3. Timeliness and reliability.

Preferred :

  1. NC Electrical License.
  2. Other qualifications that make you a unique addition to the team.
