We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Specialist who will work closely with facility operations and engineering teams to address equipment-related action items through repair and maintenance. You will be proactive in prioritizing problems before they lead to breakdowns and report to the Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor. The BRP Marine Propulsion Systems facility in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, is a full-service lost foam plant that uses innovative processes to create aluminum castings from polystyrene beads.
HOURS :
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5am-5pm
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :
- Work closely with operations and engineering teams to address equipment-related action items through repair and maintenance.
- Take point on electrical/electronic issues involving PLCs, touchscreens, robotics, CNC programming and troubleshooting, motor control and drives, electrical panel building, and schematic drawings.
- Collaborate on design, installation, and power distribution issues for equipment and processes.
- Install and maintain medium and high voltage distribution systems, A.C. and D.C. motor controls, and microprocessor and relay-based machine controls.
- Maintain industrial LAN and SCADA systems.
- Monitor and maintain 5-S standards.
- Ensure effective communication with team members and support departments, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential problems to prevent breakdowns.
- Use time efficiently to complete tasks within shifts.
- Log work orders daily into the Guide system.
- Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures diligently.
- Promote and model safe behaviors and BRP values across the facility.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES :
Required :
- Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Controls, or related field, or equivalent knowledge and proficiency (HS Diploma if no degree).
- 7+ years of maintenance or related experience, or 5+ years with a combination of education and experience.
- Advanced electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, ABB, etc.).
- Knowledge of industrial touchscreens, HMI, SCADA, and LAN systems.
- Hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial robotics programming and equipment.
- Proficiency with frequency drives.
- Ability to design and write ladder logic.
- Ability to design and build electrical circuits.
- Proficiency with industrial electronic heat control systems.
- Experience with installation and troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls and starters.
- Database entry skills.
Personal Skills :
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Timeliness and reliability.
Preferred :
- NC Electrical License.
- Other qualifications that make you a unique addition to the team.
