Principal Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Performs expert-level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation, dismantling devices, examining parts, adjusting functional parts, repairing/replacing defective parts, testing device performance, and performing tests for electrical and mechanical systems. CNC Maintenance & Repair Experience Highly Preferred.
  2. Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluates alternatives to improve cost and reliability; compiles retrofit, upgrade, or automation options.
  3. Performs maintenance per industry standards; creates maintenance standards and instructions for new or altered equipment.
  4. Directs customer counterparts in maintenance optimization, reliability, and preventative maintenance.
  5. May set up and operate machining tools such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and perform welding tasks.
  6. Follows safety policies, rules, and guidelines; maintains situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors.
  7. Documents work in service reports and management systems; compiles manuals and processes for equipment upgrades and automation.
  8. Assists lower-level technicians and project teams; performs training and development functions.
  9. Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems, resolving software/hardware and configuration issues.
  10. Uses advanced maintenance technologies to monitor equipment performance, observes trends, and makes recommendations.
  11. Conducts on-the-job training and leads technical programs for development of customers and coworkers.
Essential KSAs
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with technical focus and 12+ years of industry experience, or 15+ years of experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to analyze and repair issues.
  • Proficient with hand tools, specialized tools, and programming software.
  • Extensive travel required (local, national, international); candidates can reside anywhere within the continental U.S.
Desirable KSAs
  • Experience with condition-based maintenance, mechanical alignments, automation, and process equipment.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers, field devices, electrical drives, motors, and motion control devices.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit and lift/move over 50 pounds. Requires close and color vision. Exposure to outdoor weather, electrical shock, hazardous materials, and noisy factory environments.
