We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance candidate with good knowledge of the field and strong communication skills. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of maintenance workers in equipment repair, facility, and utility maintenance. The Maintenance Specialist ensures compliance with all safety procedures and adheres to Federal, State, and local environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, develop, and motivate maintenance workers in troubleshooting, repairs, and readings of facility and utility equipment.
- Manage breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusions.
- Schedule and direct daily activities of maintenance staff to ensure safety, timeliness, and quality of work.
- Evaluate equipment functionality and schedule repairs or suggest operational improvements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance procedures.
- Oversee work by outside contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Track and document maintenance performance on an individual basis.
- Assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage the Maintenance Budget.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience with knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in at least two areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or instrumentation.
- Strong initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
- Problem-solving abilities with limited guidance.
- Excellent planning, organization, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic computer skills, including statistical analysis.
- Experience in a 24/7 operation, with flexibility to work holidays or weekends.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong safety commitment and motivational skills to promote safety culture.
