Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs expert-level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation to locate root causes, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing device performance, and performing tests on electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
- Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluates alternatives to improve cost and reliability; and compiles retrofit, upgrade, or alternative functionality packages.
- Performs maintenance independently according to industry standards; creates maintenance standards and instructions for new or altered manufacturing equipment.
- Leads customer teams in maintenance optimization, reliability, and preventative maintenance processes.
- Sets up and operates multiple machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders; may perform welding tasks.
- Follows customer contractor codes, safety protocols, and housekeeping standards.
- Documents work in service reports and management systems; compiles technical manuals and processes relevant to equipment upgrades and automation.
- Assists lower-level technicians and project teams; provides training and development.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems, resolving software/hardware and configuration issues.
- Uses advanced maintenance technologies to monitor equipment performance and recommends improvements.
- Conducts on-the-job training and leads technical programs for customer and coworker development.
- Adheres to all safety policies and identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate degree with technical focus plus 12 years of related experience, or 15 years of industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, specialized tools, and programming software.
- Extensive travel required (local, national, international).
Desirable KSAs:
- Experience with condition-based maintenance, precision alignments, automation integration.
- Experience with PLCs, troubleshooting field devices, electrical drives, motors, and motion control devices.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Regularly required to stand, walk, handle or feel with hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. Occasionally sit, lift/move over 50 pounds, and work in loud, factory environments with potential exposure to hazards and weather conditions.
