Job summary

Evergreen Village of Fort Wayne is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to oversee the community safety program and maintain a secure, welcoming environment for residents. The role includes preventative maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen equipment, with quick handling of requests and emergencies.

The ideal candidate has HVAC/electrical experience and strong interpersonal communication skills, plus a background in senior living is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required.
• Prior Senior living experience desired.
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment.
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Completes all maintenance requests, scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently.
• Performs minor repairs, replacements, and installations of equipment, hardware, and controls.
• Maintains water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and kitchen equipment.
• Performs exterior maintenance duties and supports fire and disaster drill activities with residents and staff.
• Engages with residents in a compassionate, warm, and dignified manner.
