Job summary

Reflections Retirement Community in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support safety programs, maintain resident homes, and ensure a secure environment. Under the Maintenance Director, you will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related systems, complete requests promptly, and repair or install minor equipment as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in HVAC and/or electrical systems required.
• Prior senior living experience desired.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees community safety and maintains a secure resident home under supervision of Maintenance Director.
• Maintains preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related systems.
• Completes all maintenance requests, scheduled and emergency, promptly.
• Repairs, replaces, or installs minor equipment with direction from Executive Director.
• Maintains water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and related gear.
• Maintains community plumbing systems.
• Performs exterior maintenance tasks.
• Conducts fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members.
• Engages with residents warmly, reflecting love, compassion and dignity.
