Job summary

Cedar Point in Ohio is seeking an entry-mid level Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, lubricate, troubleshoot, and repair rides and devices. This full-time, year-round union position requires ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends, to support park operations.

You will perform mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance, operate shop equipment, and keep daily logs while adhering to safety standards and manuals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good writing and record-keeping skills.
• Experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Able to read and follow manuals and blueprints.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools.
• Ability to pass drug tests and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems and necessary repairs.
• Read checklists and instruction manuals.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in inspection, maintenance, lubrication, and repairs including bearing replacement and oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance in regards to amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems, building repairs, etc. necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and understand checklists, instruction manuals, etc.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in the inspection, routine maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides as instructed including replacement of bearings, wheels, miscellaneous parts, and oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs performed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
