Job summary

Cedar Point is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician to inspect, lubricate, troubleshoot, and repair rides and devices in a full-time, year-round union environment. The role requires performing mechanical tasks, operating shop equipment, and maintaining logs to ensure safe park operations.

Candidate will join the Laborers Union, work varied shifts including nights and weekends, and meet safety standards while supporting a busy amusement park operation in Ohio.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, etc.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
• Ability to pass a mandatory drug test per Company policy.
• Ability to pass a background check per Company policy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance in regards to amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems, building repairs, etc. necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and understand checklists, instruction manuals, etc.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in the inspection, routine maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides as instructed including replacement of bearings, wheels, miscellaneous parts, and oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs performed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
