Job summary

Cedar Point in Avon, OH is seeking an Entry-Mid level maintenance technician for full-time, year-round work in a union environment. Salary is $30.00/hour with shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will perform inspections, lubrication, troubleshooting, and repair of all rides and devices.

Position level is Entry to Mid, and applicants must provide their own hand tools and join the Laborers Union. Excellent record-keeping and safety-compliant work are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; required to perform duties.
• Must provide own hand tools as part of role.
• Must join Laborers Union as a condition of employment.
• Good record and writing skills for reporting and logs.
• Able to work at heights including catwalks and scaffolding.
• Experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work; strong mechanical aptitude.
• Follows manufacturer manuals and blueprints; reads checklists.
• Must pass mandatory drug test and background check as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance of amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment as needed.
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems and building repairs to ensure safe operation.
• Read and understand checklists and manuals; maintain logs.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and parts.
• Assist in inspection, maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides, including bearings and oil changes.
• Record daily inspections and repairs in log sheets; perform other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance in regards to amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems, building repairs, etc. necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and understand checklists, instruction manuals, etc.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in the inspection, routine maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides as instructed including replacement of bearings, wheels, miscellaneous parts, and oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs performed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
