Job summary

Cedar Point is seeking an entry-mid level Maintenance Technician to inspect, lubricate, troubleshoot, and repair all rides and devices. The role requires working various shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a full-time, year-round union environment.

The position pays $30.00 per hour with potential benefits and opportunities to participate in park-wide events. Candidates must join the Laborers Union and meet safety requirements for heights and manual work.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights, including catwalks and lifts.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance of amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems to ensure safe operation.
• Read and understand checklists and manuals.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in inspection and routine maintenance including lubrication and repairs.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance in regards to amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems, building repairs, etc. necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and understand checklists, instruction manuals, etc.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Assist in the inspection, routine maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides as instructed including replacement of bearings, wheels, miscellaneous parts, and oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs performed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
