Job summary

Cedar Point is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, maintain, lubricate, troubleshoot and repair all rides and devices. This full-time, year-round union position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will perform hands-on mechanical work, read manuals, keep logs, and ensure safe operation of park attractions. The role involves using hand tools, operating shop equipment, and meeting all safety and documentation requirements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical and mechanical work.
• Must join Laborers Union.
• Good record and writing skills.
• Able to work at heights (catwalks, lifts, scaffolding).
• Must pass a drug test and background check per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all mechanical maintenance of amusement rides and devices.
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Notify maintenance of equipment problems and building repairs to ensure safe operation.
• Read and follow checklists and manuals; maintain equipment inventory.
• Assist in inspections, routine maintenance, lubrication, and repairs of rides; replace bearings and parts; perform oil changes.
• Maintain daily log sheets of inspections and repairs.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
• Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer's manuals and blue prints.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
