Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Maintenance Program Manager to plan, develop, and operate comprehensive maintenance programs for assigned area headquarters. You will manage budgets, oversee crews, and coordinate emergency operations to ensure service levels meet required standards.

The role requires strong data analysis, scheduling, and leadership skills, with experience in highway maintenance and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Gather data, maintain accurate records, conduct research, and create reports for personnel, equipment and materials.
• Interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Schedule, plan and monitor work activities.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reading road and bridge sketches.
• Reading roadway/bridge construction plans and recordkeeping.
• Proficiency with computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Budget and manage maintenance program expenditures within the allocated budget.
• Direct pavement and sign marking crews and ensure schedules are met.
• Coordinate with TE work groups to maximize utilization and efficiency.
• Provide guidance for emergency maintenance operations and incident management.
• Maintain IMS inventory, process purchases and ensure timely payment of bills.
• Promote and enforce the safety program and maintain a safe work environment.
• Inspect roads to determine maintenance needs and create cost-quantity reports.
