Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified professional to plan, develop, and operate the Area Headquarters maintenance program within established schedules and budgets. The role involves managing all work activities for assigned maintenance programs and ensuring pavement and sign marking duties are scheduled and executed efficiently.

Responsibilities include directing crews, supervising emergency operations, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to gather data, maintain records, and create reports for personnel, equipment and materials.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Ability to schedule, plan and monitor work activities.
• Experience with highway construction and maintenance equipment, materials and methods.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, deliver and operate maintenance programs within schedules and budgets.
• Manage full scope of work activities for assigned maintenance programs and operations.
• Direct pavement and sign marking crews and schedule planned and unplanned work within budgets.
• Provide guidance for emergency maintenance operations including incident management and snow removal.
• Maintain inventory levels, manage IMS transactions and ensure timely reporting and compliance.
• Oversee safety programs and ensure a safe work environment and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor contracts for compliance and prepare cost quantities and reports to support operations.
