Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a seasoned program manager to plan, develop, deliver and operate the Area Headquarters maintenance program, ensuring projects align with schedules and budgets. You will oversee the full scope of work for assigned maintenance programs and operations in your area.

You will lead pavement and sign marking crews, manage emergency operations, inventory control, safety programs, and prepare cost documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience managing highway maintenance and construction programs.
• Ability to schedule, plan and monitor work activities within budget.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
• Leadership and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of roadway construction and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, deliver and operate maintenance programs within schedules and budgets.
• Direct and coordinate pavement marking crews and related activities.
• Oversee emergency maintenance operations including snow removal and hurricane preparedness.
• Monitor inventory and procurement, ensure IMS transactional accuracy.
• Prepare cost estimates and reports to support maintenance operations.
• Ensure safety program compliance across Area Headquarters.
