Job summary

Buckhorn is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to apply engineering principles and lean methods to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include leading Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and implementing control systems to optimize product quality and cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or automated manufacturing.
• Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment – plastics preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of driving efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, kaizen events and value stream mapping.
• Creative problem solving with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering to improve safety, quality, productivity and reduce costs.
• Apply lean manufacturing, six sigma and A-3 problem solving techniques to enhance quality and cost effectiveness.
• Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend design or process changes.
• Promote data-driven decisions.
• Introduce new equipment, methods, and processes to improve operations.
• Design testing methods and validate process requirements.
• Develop and implement control systems to improve cycle times and product quality.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and reduce variation.
• Support department goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Solve chronic/repetitive problems.
