Job summary

Buckhorn in Missouri is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to collaborate with the Plant Manager and Technical Services to maximize plant efficiency, safety and quality. You will apply engineering theory, manufacturing methods and data-driven analysis to improve equipment performance and reduce costs.

You will lead cross-functional projects, solve root causes with statistics, and implement new equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Cross-functional teamwork and project management experience.
• Proven track record of driving efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Continuous improvement mindset and strong teamwork.
• Well organized self-starter with time management skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
• Ability to use CAD to update plant floor layouts and tooling drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work with other departments to improve safety, quality and production, reduce delays, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Apply lean, six sigma and A-3 problem solving to enhance quality, reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Identify, plan and lead cross-functional capital and improvement projects.
• Determine root causes using statistical methods and recommend design/process changes to prevent recurrence.
• Promote data-driven decisions over opinions.
• Introduce new equipment, methods and processes to improve operations.
• Design testing methods and calculate process capabilities to establish standards.
• Design, develop and implement control systems to improve production cycles and product quality.
• Utilize statistics to optimize performance and analyze trends to reduce variation.
• Participate in department goals and cross-functional initiatives.
• Identify and resolve chronic problems; on-call availability 24/7.
