Job summary

Buckhorn Inc. is seeking a senior manufacturing/quality focused engineer to apply engineering theory and manufacturing methods to improve equipment performance and processes.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality and engineering to raise safety, quality, productivity and reduce costs. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data‑driven problem solving, and leading cross‑functional teams to drive efficiency and cost reductions across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or automated manufacturing.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing experience, plastics preferred.
• Proven cross-functional teamwork and cost-reduction success.
• Strong problem-solving and kaizen capabilities.
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience with PLC/HMI and CAD tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Improve safety, quality, productivity through cross‑department collaboration.
• Apply lean, six sigma and A-3 methods to enhance quality and cost efficiency.
• Identify root causes and adjust designs, tolerances, or processes.
• Promote data‑driven decisions over opinions.
• Introduce new equipment, methods and processes to improve operations.
• Design tests and determine process capabilities to set standards.
• Develop and implement control systems to improve cycle times and quality.
• Analyze process data to identify trends and reduce variation.
• Support department goal setting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Solve chronic and repetitive problems to sustain improvements.
