Job summary

Lawson is seeking a Maintenance Prep team member in Chesapeake, VA to support our property maintenance team and ensure apartments are ready for tenants. The role encompasses a range of trade tasks and daily upkeep of the property.

You will perform plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and other maintenance duties, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented property. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with at least 1 year maintenance trade experience.
• Formal training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall installation or air conditioning.
• Be available to report to work during inclement weather events for property clean up and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Vacant apartment prep
• Perform maintenance projects with good workmanship and in a timely manner
• Perform plumbing, electrical, painting, concrete, masonry, minor extermination and carpentry work
• Repair, replace or install signage, glass, tile, carpet, cove base, fixtures, venetian blinds, locks, doorknobs and hinges
• Inspections
• Turn inventory control
• Janitorial duties and on-the-spot corrections/reporting deficiencies in janitorial services
• Other duties as assigned

We are currently seeking to add a Maintenance Prep team member to support and assist our maintenance team. Maintenance staff are responsible for overall property maintenance and related mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other operational/functional systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Vacant apartment prep
• Perform, with good workmanship, all assigned maintenance projects in a timely manner
• Perform plumbing, electrical, painting, concrete, masonry, minor extermination and carpentry work

Requirements

Physical Functions

Bending, kneeling, stretching, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting, lifting up to sixty (60) pounds, running and lifting over sixty (60) pounds occasionally.
