Job Summary

Responsible for the showroom’s first impression and maintaining a ‘brand new’ image and an attractive setting. This includes the cleanliness of the showroom, offices, restrooms, warehouse, and storage spaces of the building. Looks for actions that can be taken to make our store clean and orderly.

Porter/Housekeeper

Reports To: Store Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Functions

• Maintain the warehouse: ensure items are tagged, accessible for inventory scans, clean, and organized.
• Manage daily movement of large furniture, rugs, and accessories.
• Organize and maintain showroom storage areas.
• Maintain the clearance center, ensuring items are tagged, in sellable condition, replenished, clean, and orderly.
• Replace light fixtures and bulbs throughout the store, ensuring proper lighting standards.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies, light bulbs, and paper products.
• Conduct regular inspections of the showroom for fallen tags, pillows, etc.
• Inspect the outside of the showroom to maintain an attractive appearance, including planters and parking lot cleanliness.
• Perform routine building maintenance such as wall retouching, painting, and minor repairs.
• Report stains, damages, or safety concerns immediately to the Store Manager.
• Assist with furniture assembly and customer pickups as needed.
• Handle deliveries, unload merchandise, and ensure quality upon receipt.
• Assist with movement of products within the showroom for presentation and display purposes.
• Hang wall art, mirrors, signage, and stage props.
• Help with tagging the floor and inventory management when necessary.
• Adhere to company vision and values, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in maintenance/housekeeping but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Ability to work safely, organize tasks, communicate effectively, lift/move up to 100 pounds, and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders.
