Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Planner to organize and optimize preventive maintenance activities across mills and hatcheries, ensuring SAP-PM data accuracy and timely work order planning.

The role emphasizes strong mechanical aptitude, reliable communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment. On-site shift coverage and collaboration with engineering and operations are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional maintenance training preferred.
• Minimum two years of in-house mechanical experience; Tyson maintenance training encouraged.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP preferred or ability to learn quickly.
• Strong communication skills, and ability to work independently in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SAP PM data and reporting for maintenance planning.
• Analyze data to drive maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Develop enterprise-wide preventive maintenance best practices.
• Review work orders for equipment history and optimization opportunities.
• Identify modifications to improve reliability and labor utilization.
• Label new equipment per Tyson standards and keep records current.
• Use KPIs to provide feedback to the Maintenance Manager.
• Plan maintenance tasks considering skills and safety training requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, Operations Support, and others on projects.
• Interface with Operations Support to develop relevant reports.
