Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Maintenance Planner for the Dawson, GA area to manage planning from the backlog within the CMMS (Maximo) and ensure efficient execution of maintenance and reliability programs. The position requires a two-year technical degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience, familiarity with Maximo, and a strong commitment to safety and GMP practices.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in STEM (engineering technology preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Extensive knowledge of a CMMS; Maximo experience highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing plant operations and maintenance.
• Maintenance planning experience is preferred.
• Commitment to safety and GMP practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive and support the implementation of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program
• Establish metrics based on CMMS data
• Utilize CMMS data to drive continuous improvement within the maintenance department
• Actively participate in RCFA work, including root cause identification
• Coordinate cross-department communication to support RCM
• Review scope of work and perform field walk-downs for approved work orders
• Enhance CMMS (Maximo) by expanding asset list and detailing entries
• Edit work orders for accuracy, standardization, documentation, timeframe, resources
• Request purchase orders for materials and verify stock before scheduling
• Review backlog and planning list for duplicates
• Hold backlog review/clean-up meetings
• Lead weekly scheduling meetings
• Group work orders to optimize resource utilization
• Incorporate technician and operations feedback into continuous improvement
• Manage KPIs related to planning and job execution
• Provide feedback, mentorship, training and support using Performance Excellence tools
• Support and own Environmental Health & Safety and Quality, and Food Safety Systems from planning perspective
• Support Plant Operations by participating in an on-call rotation
