Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks an Assistant Mechanical Planner in Florence, SC to support maintenance planning and scheduling for manufacturing equipment. You will work with maintenance, engineering, operations, and procurement to optimize reliability, ensure GMP compliance, and maintain CMMS and SAP PM data for accurate work orders.

You will develop maintenance plans, review work orders, participate in planning meetings, and support overtime and emergency maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical technology or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting maintenance planning, maintenance coordination, or industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) or equivalent CMMS.
• Understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GMP Compliance: ensure all work orders follow GMP guidelines.
• Support maintenance planning and scheduling in SAP/CMMS to optimize work orders.
• Maintain up-to-date training profiles in SuccessFactors.
• Participate in daily and weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings.
• Review, prioritize, and develop work orders ensuring completeness for execution.
• Ensure compliance with Maintenance and Operations Workflow processes before scheduling activities.
• Conduct field walkdowns to assess equipment conditions and develop maintenance plans.
• Coordinate procurement of maintenance materials and equipment to support activities.
• Support MRO inventory management and maintain stock accuracy.
• Develop and update standard job plans, task lists, and BOMs for recurring activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set priorities and optimize resources.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
