Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Planner to support Senior Planner in planning and scheduling maintenance for manufacturing equipment and facilities. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, reliability, and adherence to GMP with strong CMMS/SAP usage.

You will collaborate with maintenance, engineering, operations, and procurement teams to optimize resources, develop detailed maintenance plans, and ensure compliance with site procedures and change controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical cert preferred.
• Experience with maintenance planning/coordinating in manufacturing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of SAP PM or equivalent CMMS.
• Understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance concepts.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GMP compliance for all work orders and activities.
• Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and work order management in CMMS.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, operations, and procurement teams.
• Develop and update maintenance plans, BOMs, and task lists.
• Assist with inventory management and MRO accuracy.
• Support overtime, emergencies, and plant callouts as needed.
