Job summary

Hood Industries in Waynesboro, MS is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support our lumber facility as we transition to a new state-of-the-art sawmill. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance to boost equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

The role collaborates with maintenance, production, and operations teams, maintains CMMS data, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Weekend/extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in industrial maintenance, planning or scheduling roles.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
• Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities and work orders.
• Partner with maintenance, production, and operations teams to ensure work is properly planned and executed.
• Prepare and kit work orders ensuring required parts, tools, and resources are available.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and update the Guardian Web CMMS system including work orders, PMs, equipment data, and parts information.
• Scope and define work to support equipment reliability and overall mill performance.
• Support Maintenance Supervisors in scheduling labor and resources to minimize production downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to manage changes and updates to preventive maintenance procedures.
