Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc in Waynesboro, Mississippi is seeking a Reliability Engineer to drive maintenance reliability and continuous improvement across current sawmill operations and a new state-of-the-art facility under construction.

Responsibilities include developing reliability models, leading predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and collaborating with operations and engineering to enhance equipment uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in reliability, maintenance, or engineering in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of reliability principles, predictive technologies, and RCA/RCM.
• CMMS experience and data-driven decision making.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams).

Responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of reliability processes, systems, and tools for mill and equipment reliability.
• Promote a reliability-focused culture and proactive maintenance ownership.
• Develop and maintain reliability models, metrics, and data trends for equipment performance.
• Identify and implement reliability improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies (inspection, vibration, oil analysis, thermography).
• Lead and support maintenance programs and CMMS utilization.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance.
• Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and vendors to ensure equipment reliability.
• Support safety, environmental, and quality standards; assist training on reliability best practices.
