Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc. in Silver Creek, MS seeks a Reliability Engineer to support mill reliability efforts at our lumber facility. You will drive predictive and preventive maintenance, analyze data, and lead failure investigations to improve equipment uptime.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background with 3+ years in reliability or maintenance within manufacturing, plus CMMS and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 1-3+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or engineering in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of reliability principles, practices, and tools (FMEA, RCA, RCM).
• Ability to lead projects and drive reliability improvements.
• CMMS experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and collaboration tools.
• CRE/CMRP certification is a plus.
• Experience in lumber mills or wood products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of reliability processes, systems, and tools.
• Foster a reliability-focused culture and proactive maintenance ownership.
• Develop and maintain reliability metrics and tools for mill equipment.
• Identify and implement reliability improvements to reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Support CMMS usage and training.
• Lead proactive maintenance programs (inspection, vibration, oil analysis, thermography).
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve equipment performance.
• Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and vendors on equipment reliability.
• Support safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Provide reliability best-practices training to maintenance and operations teams.
