Job summary

Tyler Union in Anniston, Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Planner to ensure reliable operations by planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

In this role you will develop work plans, create and schedule work orders in CMMS, and ensure materials, tools, and labor are available. You will monitor maintenance metrics, support root cause analysis, and help optimize downtime in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance technology, or industrial operations or equivalent experience.
• At least three (3) years of maintenance planning / scheduling experience (heavy manufacturing preferred).
• Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret mechanical / electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of reliability practices, predictive maintenance.
• Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and metrics.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Related certification (e.g. CMRT, CMRP, PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop work plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Create and schedule maintenance work orders in CMMS.
• Ensure materials, tools, and labor are available prior to work.
• Review job plans with maintenance supervisors and crafts.
• Monitor and report on maintenance metrics (e.g. backlog, schedule adherence, downtime).
• Assist in root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts.
• Maintain BOMs, parts lists, and spare parts inventory.
• Lead planning / coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and maintenance standards.
• Update maintenance documentation, drawings, procedures.
• Provide support during shutdowns, outages, or critical events.
