Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling work activities for the Maintenance and Engineering teams. This includes preparing efficient and effective work plans for all Preventive, Predictive, Condition-Based, and Project/Backlog Maintenance activities. The Planner works with the Technical Stores Team to ensure parts are available and ready, ensures internal and external labor resources are available, and coordinates execution of plans in conjunction with the production schedule by collaborating with the Production Scheduler. Accessing, understanding, and utilizing information in the CMMS system is fundamental to this role.

Supports Line Mechanics and Technicians by providing expert guidance and maintaining open communication channels. Identifies and escalates problems proactively.

This role also serves as an NCE Facilitator, championing AMM, tracking results, pushing for the execution of improvement projects, initiating focused projects based on maintenance trends, and participating in process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Plan all Predictive, Preventive, and Condition-Based Maintenance activities in coordination with the site's production and operational plans, ensuring resource availability.
• Prioritize and escalate critical works as necessary.
• Manage CMMS data, ensuring accurate entry of FLOC, BOMs, PMs, and modifications.
• Monitor work order backlog and schedule backlog work to maintain a reasonable level.
• Audit and support data entry quality in SAP/AMM systems.
• Provide support and training to ensure comprehensive information is available.
• Evaluate notifications, work with Maintenance Manager and Mechanics, and convert requests into Work Orders or provide feedback.
• Monitor Work Order Completion, Backlog, and Schedule Compliance to ensure maintenance system health.
• Drive continuous improvement projects related to maintenance in collaboration with operations and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Familiarity with Maintenance Improvement methodologies; experience working with site or corporate engineers.
• Open to new methods and opportunities.
• Detail-oriented with accurate record-keeping skills.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environment.
• Experience as a Maintenance Planner is preferred, including planning and coordination of maintenance activities considering production schedules and related activities.
• Exposure to maintenance planning techniques and maintenance execution is advantageous.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, MP2, MLS, etc.
• Hands-on experience as a mechanic or in a similar capacity is a plus.
