Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife in Cortland, Ohio, is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance team member to keep resident and facility environments clean, safe and welcoming. You’ll work closely with residents and staff to ensure timely, high-quality care and a positive living environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning furnishings, floors, and units; reporting maintenance issues; and upholding resident rights and confidentiality. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience in long term care preferred.
• Positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Clean furnishings, fixtures, ledges, windows, and HVAC units as scheduled or assigned.
• Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping or damp mopping as scheduled or assigned.
• Empty trash and transport to proper area.
• Report burned out light bulbs and other maintenance concerns to supervisor.
• Interact positively with residents, family members, guests and personnel.
• Follow policies and regulations to assure quality resident care.
• Communicate and cooperate with other team members.
• Maintain resident rights and confidentiality.

Pay: Starting at $13.00/hr, increases with experience

Positions: Part Time and Saturday rotation (about once a month) and on holiday rotation

Responsibilities:

• Cleans furnishings, fixtures, ledges, windows, heating/cooling units, etc. by washing, dusting, or polishing as scheduled or assigned
• Cleans floors by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping or damp/wet mopping as scheduled or assigned
• Empties trash, cleans trash receptacles and transports trash to proper area
• Reports burned out light bulbs, broken or defective equipment, other maintenance concerns, pest control problems and other unsafe or unsanitary conditions to supervisor
• Interacts positively with residents, family members, guests and personnel
• Follows all established policies, procedures and regulations to assure that quality resident care is maintained
• Communicates, coordinates and cooperates with other team members
• Maintains resident rights and confidentiality

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Previous Housekeeping and/or Laundry experience in long term care preferred; positive attitude
