Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of maintenance technicians and grounds staff, ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and exceptional resident service in our residential community.

You will oversee multiple trades, coordinate with environmental and safety teams, manage work orders in Yardi, and drive continuous improvement through metrics, training, and strong supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college courses or trade certifications preferred.
• Project management experience is desirable.
• Strong leadership, safety compliance, and communication skills.
• Experience with Yardi property management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide management oversight across operations, financial reporting, procurement, customer service, recruitment, training and performance for an assigned maintenance team.
• Direct and support grounds and landscaping teams to meet curb appeal standards.
• Oversee the quality of work across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, carpentry, and more.
• Train, coach, and supervise safety practices and PPE usage.
• Organize and assign work orders to meet response times and quality targets.
• Track key metrics and report on performance to support continuous improvement.
