Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Leader in Maintenance to implement and execute department processes, supporting Shift Leaders and Maintenance Group Leaders. The role focuses on SPQRCE priorities—Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment—while driving teamwork and cost control.

You will support GMS processes across the department and plant, aiding launches and pilots and helping meet production maintenance cost schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Maintenance experience; General Assembly experience preferred.
• Must be able to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of quality standards and communicate department quality goals.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management.
• Understand and administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Implement and follow systems to prevent reoccurrence of known issues.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety; train and develop employees.
• Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
• Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles.
