The Maintenance of Traffic laborer performs temporary traffic control operations to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow within a work zone on roadway construction projects. Responsibilities include highway maintenance tasks, compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and safety guidelines.

Essential Job Functions

• Set up and maintain traffic control devices, signs, and lights
• Manage traffic control activities, including detours and lane closures
• Coordinate with on-site client representatives or officials
• Load and unload equipment
• Transport equipment to and from job sites
• Supervise traffic control laborers to ensure compliance with MOT guidelines
• Assess conditions and recommend procedures for traffic maintenance
• Complete daily reports and paperwork
• If authorized, operate company vehicles and maintain driving standards

Desired Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in Maintenance of Traffic or related fields
• High School Diploma/GED and effective communication skills
• Advanced MOT Certification preferred
