Job Title: PPM Laborer-- Lakeland, FL

Job Summary:

MOR PPM, Inc. seeks a Full Time Plant Laborer in Lakeland, Florida. This position will mostly consist of reading meters.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs related work as required.

• Read Meters
• Assists crew members assigned certain construction and maintenance activities
• May be required to work overtime, or alternate hours, as necessary for the efficient operation of the department

Qualifications:

• High school diploma from an accredited school or its equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in construction
• Experience in construction, maintenance & repair in Power Plants is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to pass and maintain training in: Confined Space (C & M Division)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the equipment, material, and practices used in maintenance and repair of Power Plants.
• Knowledge of the applicable work safety rules and procedures
• Skill in use of construction trade tools and equipment
• Ability to safely operate power hand tools
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, supervisors and the public
• Ability to perform manual, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

• Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
• Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required
