A Maintenance of Traffic Laborer performs many duties involving traffic control to assist crew when paving roads and highways directing motorists and flags traffic as needed. Under the direction of the traffic control foreman.

This position can include the set-up and maintenance of traffic control devices based on the specific demands of the traffic control plan for the job.
Traffic control or Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) as it is referred, contains a variety of duties and responsibilities. Of the tasks listed above, many can stand alone and be performed for a 10 hour shift. Various combinations of these tasks can be performed, or eliminated, based on the physical limitations of the employee, if any. All requirement are subject to modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability.
