Job summary

Weyerhaeuser's Wood Products facility in Plymouth, NC is seeking experienced Industrial Maintenance professionals. The successful candidate will perform mechanical maintenance, install and repair equipment, including motors, pneumatic/hydraulic and conveyor systems, and participate in on-the-job training.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, experience in maintenance, strong root cause analysis, proficiency with tools and measurement instruments, and be willing to work weekends

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent education.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays and wear PPE.
• Able to work in extreme heat and cold.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks including installation and repair of machinery.
• Repair and maintain motors, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
• Analyze breakdowns to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Lubricate, clean, and maintain equipment; plan maintenance and layout work.
• Welding and metal fabrication as required.
• Follow safety lockout procedures and maintain good housekeeping.

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser's Wood Products manufacturing facility in Plymouth, NC has an opportunity for experienced individuals to join our Industrial Maintenance team. A successful candidate will have prior industrial experience, mechanical aptitude and be willing and eager to invest time and energy in training. Including self-study on their own time to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to be an industrial maintenance mechanic.Key Functions:The successful candidate will participate in self-study and on the job training to enable them to perform the following maintenance functions:Highly skilled mechanical maintenance tasks including installation.Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.This may include, but not limited to, such equipment as motors, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor systems.In downtime situations, must be able to analyze the cause of breakdown with equipment.Must also determine and carry out maintenance of repair actions required to return the equipment to effective operating conditions.Must lubricate and clean parts, perform maintenance planning, layout work, welding and metal fabrication as required.Follow and adhere to safety lockout procedures and strictly adhere to plant safety rules as well as follow excellent housekeeping practices to help maintain a clean work environment.QualificationsMust be proficient in the use of hand and power tools and precision measuring and test instrumentsExperienced in pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systemsExcellent skills in root cause analysisSkilled in all aspects of mechanical maintenanceAll applicants must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institutionStable employment history with a minimum of one year experience in the Industrial Maintenance field OR equivalent education to include vocational/technical school certificateEligible to work in the United States without sponsorshipGood communication skillsMust be team orientedCommitment to follow all unit electrical/maintenance practicesWillingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidaysWillingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipmentAbility to work in extreme heat and coldWillingness and ability to learn new jobs and skillsWillingness to work in Plymouth, NC without requiring relocation assistanceAll applicants are strongly encouraged to upload a resume detailing education and job historyMust be able to work independently as well as in a groupThe following qualifications are preferred:Vocational or technical/trade school certificate or educationPast employment experience in a manufacturing environmentPast employment in a wood manufacturing facilityProficient in precision measuring equipmentPost Application Requirements:Successful completion of pre-employment computer-based testingSuccessful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screenAbout Wood ProductsWe've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
