Overview:Performs repairs and troubleshooting on food processing equipment including, but not limited to stuffers, vacuum pumps, mixers, grinders, packaging machinery, conveyors, and ovens. An ideal maintenance technician must be willing to work off-shift hours, overtime, and be on call as needed.Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts, and reinstalling as necessary.Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.Communicate damaged, worn, or broken parts to maintenance manager or tool supply specialist.Troubleshoot pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic machine problems and make necessary repairs.Install replacement belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves.Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.Enter work orders and work off an electronic maintenance system to track work performed.Clean, organize, and maintain a safe working area, parts & tools.Install equipment, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.Collaborate with plant manager and/or production team regarding status of maintenance projects to ensure they are aware of interruptions with production equipment or environment.Make necessary modifications and implement test runs; confer with maintenance manager or pertinent individuals regarding results and make additional alterations to machinery as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Other dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
