Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facility machinery and equipment. This position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and support continuous production.Essential FunctionsThe following duties are considered essential job functions:Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including inspection, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustment.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs in a timely manner.Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and take corrective action.Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed and parts used.Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.Coordinate with production staff to schedule and complete maintenance with minimal operational disruption.Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.Marginal / Non-Essential FunctionsOrder parts, maintain inventory, and coordinate with vendors.Assist in training employees on equipment operation and basic maintenance.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects.Additional Duties ClauseThis position requires flexibility. The employee may be required to perform tasks that are not specifically listed in this job description but are reasonably related to the general scope of the position.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Certification in maintenance or related field preferred.Required Experience:- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance technician role.- Experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.- Proven track record of performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.- Flexibility to work various shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requests.Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to:Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.Lift and carry up to 51 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.Use hands and tools for prolonged periods.Work in confined spaces or at heights, as needed.Work EnvironmentExposure to machinery, moving parts, noise, and varying temperatures.May be required to work overtime, weekends, or be on-call for emergency maintenance.
