Job summary

International Paper in Columbus, GA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain production equipment at the Columbus box plant. The role requires proficiency in mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting, with safety as a priority.

Shifts are 7pm–7am with training on days; cross-training across technical areas; involvement in major projects like roll changes.

Qualifications

• Five years of industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• On-the-job safety, attendance and quality of work are essential.
• Experience in corrugated industry is a plus; lubrication, hydraulics, welding and pneumatics knowledge required.
• Willingness to cross-train in other technical areas and work all shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to all production equipment at the Columbus plant.
• Demonstrate job-specific knowledge and leadership skills during major projects such as roll changes.
• Maintain proficiency in mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission and lubrication; begin developing electrical skills.
