Job summary

International Paper in Biglerville, PA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep plant equipment and facilities operating at peak efficiency. This full-time night shift (6pm–6am, 4 days on/4 days off) offers a competitive starting rate plus a shift differential.

You will perform preventive and emergency maintenance, read equipment manuals, coordinate with vendors, maintain accurate records, and uphold safety rules. A team-driven environment supports ongoing training and development at IP.

Qualifications

• Must pass online Non-Technical General Maintenance Test and Online Technical General Maintenance Test.
• Pre-employment Health Assessment, Drug Screen and Background Check required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Well-rounded electrical, mechanical & machine shop skills and experience.
• Ability to learn and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition.
• Scheduled preventative maintenance and response to emergency/breakdown reports; lubricating, measuring wear, repositioning components, observing operations, monitoring vibrations & noise levels.
• Referencing equipment manuals and other technical literature.
• Contacting and coordinating with vendors and sub-contractors.
• Accurately using measurement and testing equipment.
• Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system and other repairs and installations as needed.
• Safely operating the boiler.
• Preparing and maintaining maintenance records.
• Troubleshooting and solving problems.
• Maintaining teamwork with other associates and keeping supervision informed of issues.
