Maintenance Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship Instructor

Position Summary

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic Millwright Apprenticeship Instructor for our new program on the Fond du Lac Campus. This position involves delivering instruction through various modalities, facilitating student learning, and developing curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. Responsibilities also include providing student support, developing industry partnerships, and creating lab and equipment needs, especially in the first year. The position is funded by the Developing Markets Grant through June 30, 2026, and thereafter by the college.

The successful candidate will have an associate degree in a related field (or be willing to obtain one) and two years (4,000 hours) of relevant paid work experience, including one year (2,000 hours) of recent experience. Alternatively, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the past five years may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and facilitate learning, establishing a professional and safe environment.
  • Meet student needs using diverse teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records, submit grades timely.
  • Provide feedback, develop and update curriculum, and participate in college activities.
  • Promote programs, support student success, and build industry relationships.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • One year (2,000 hours) of recent related work experience or willingness to obtain it within three years.
  • Hold or be eligible for a Master Electrician license.
  • Experience in at least 8 areas such as wiring systems, relay circuits, drives, troubleshooting, safety codes, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, and diagrams.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain accreditation standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Apprenticeship certificate from BAS or similar program.
  • OSHA-10 card.
  • Additional relevant experience and qualifications.

Work Environment

  • Potential hazards include airborne particulates, noise, ergonomic hazards, and extreme temperatures.
  • Use of PPE is required.

Other Position Requirements

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel to campus locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring range: $66,960-$77,669 (pending approval). Starting date: August 11, 2025. Benefits details available on the college website.
