Job summary

Encompass Health in Toledo is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to keep hospital systems reliable. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and tasks across equipment, utilities, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and light construction.

The role requires physical capability and a willingness to work various shifts as needed. The ideal candidate has licensing in electrical/plumbing/HVAC and experience in healthcare settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction.
• Licensing in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• May work weekdays, weekends, evenings or nights as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects up to 50 pounds.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively test and operate emergency power supply systems and components.
• Install/maintain/repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frames under supervisor direction.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
• Plan, interpret, examine, draw, and record work; report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform control maintenance, building construction, and equipment overhaul within time frames.
