Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support hospital operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.

The role emphasizes reliability and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The ideal candidate brings experience in facilities maintenance, can lift up to 50 pounds, and may work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Licensing in electrical, plumbing or HVAC preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Test and operate emergency power supply systems (EPSS) safely.
• Install/maintain/repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frames under supervision.
• Record work, report daily completion to supervisor, and plan future tasks.
• Perform control maintenance, building repair, and equipment overhaul as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
