Join to apply for the Maintenance Mechanic III role at Moraine Valley Community College.

Under the general direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic III constructs facilities as required, maintains and repairs all college electrical, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems. The role involves programming and operating building automation systems. The Maintenance Mechanic III supports the college's learning concepts by developing programs and activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Duties Include (Other duties may be assigned):

1. Receive work assignments, work orders, and instructions from the Maintenance Supervisor.
2. Study and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, or sketches to construct new facilities, install new equipment, troubleshoot problems, and determine procedures, tools, and materials needed.
3. Correct defective mechanical devices by disassembling, installing parts, welding, or refitting; adjust and maintain mechanical equipment.
4. Install and repair air, water, gas, and refrigerant lines; maintain plumbing systems.
5. Repair and maintain temperature control, HVAC, and electronic systems.
6. Operate and program the building automation system.
7. Inspect mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment regularly.
8. Maintain the college's swimming pool if certified as an Illinois Swimming Pool Operator.
9. Assist in training designated maintenance staff.
10. Perform boiler maintenance, chemical testing, and keep logs.
11. Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in work areas.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
