ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Field Engineer to join our team remotely.

In this role you will assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems, referring them to Senior Engineers or Project Managers. Field Engineers provide technical engineering information and interpretation of blue prints, plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors. This position finds solutions to conflicts in design drawings and specifications by conferring with the engineering team, then coordinates agreed upon solutions with the various sub-trades. As a member of the Project Site Team, the Field Engineer coordinates inspections with consultants and authorities as required by the contract, inspects for conformance to design drawings, assists Project Managers by enforcing quality control and expediting subcontractors, reviews shop drawings for conformance with the contract, and ensures information is communicated to engineers and project managers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the enterprise architecture, design, development, and deployment of network services in support of government customer; perform site installations, technology refresh, develop implementation plans and schedules
  • Research and implement enterprise-wide network solutions, capabilities, and enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives, while complying with the network architecture and design standards
  • Produce SELC project artifacts such as requirements, design documents, diagrams, and other required documentation
  • Troubleshoot network incidents, providing root cause analysis and documenting information in tickets and knowledge repositories; support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts; conducts site surveys and develops deployment plans
  • Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring, and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies
  • Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation for network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions
  • Collaborate and capture customer requirements, presenting customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies; assist in the development and management of network architecture diagrams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ year of relevant experience
  • 8570 Compliant certifications (IAM III/IAT III) and CCNA certification
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technology
  • Experience with primary network topologies, LANs, WANs and other common network standards
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and QoS, MPLS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One of the following certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Data Management Pr5ofessional (CDMP), Six Sigma Certification, ITIL4
  • Master’s Degree

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD suitability is required prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
The projected compensation range for this position is $68,800.00-$114,700.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
